Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers

The Modern Day Portland Trail Blazers

The current state of the Trail Blazers is a bit confusing. The team started to go into a rebuild two years ago because of the departure of the franchise's best player of all time. Since the trade, the Blazers have not had a winning season, or even close to one to be honest. Rebuilds in the NBA usually take around 5 seasons to really get back on their feet. The Blazers are in the midst of a hot streak at the time I am creating this website, winning 10 out of their last 12 games. The foundation of the team seems to be found and they are making noise at the bottom of the conference standings. Nobody can be sure if this team is legit and can start competing or just on a hot streak and will go back to losing. Time will tell.

The Team

Currently, the Trail Blazers are the second youngest team in the NBA with an average age of 24 years old. There are some vets mixed in with the young core though, like Jerami Grant and Deandre Ayton, who are there to guide and help the younger players grow. Scoot Henderson, who was seen as Damian Lillard's replacement, has really started to come into his own this season and has looked worthy of the third pick in the draft when they selected him. Shaedon Sharpe continues to impress nightly with his stellar shooting and gravity-defying jumps. Toumani Camara is a name we will be hearing for many years as one of the best defenders in the NBA, and he is only 22 years old.
